A NEW JOURNAL FOR CHALLENGES AND CREATIVE TRANSFORMATIONS IN ACADEMIC MEDICINE HAS BEEN BORN

Abstract

We are delighted to inform you that we are introducing a multidisciplinary journal, ‘Medicina Academica Integra-tiva,’ established to address the ever-rising challenges, cri-ses, and transformations in academic medicine. The journal originated as ‘Medicina Academica Mo-stariensia (MAM)’ in 2013, initially introduced as a spe-cial edition of ‘Psychiatria Danubina (PD)’ with the aim of supporting the development of the postgraduate (PhD) study at the School of Medicine, University of Mostar, Bosnia and Herzegovina. However, our efforts to establish MAM as a separate journal within the framework of the PD family of journals were unsuccessful. Therefore, starting from the 2022 special edition, it was rebranded as ‘Medici-na Academica Integrativa’ (Jakovljević 2022a). From the year 2024 onwards, it stands as a new journal affiliated with the University of Mostar. This open-access, international, peer-reviewed scholarly journal is dedicated to promoting original ideas, research, concepts, and theories related to an integrative, holistic, interdisciplinary, and trans-disci-plinary approach in academic medicine.
